Thin file (पतली क्रेडिट फ़ाइल)
A thin file means your credit report has too few or too recent accounts for bureaus to score you confidently, even though you are not brand new to credit. It sits between NTC and a full credit history, and timely EMIs on any active account thicken the file quickly.
Worked example
You have one 8-month-old credit card and nothing else, so your score is volatile and some lenders decline. Six more months of on-time payments, plus a small well-repaid loan, can move you into a stable, healthier score band.
