Top-up loan (टॉप-अप ऋण)
A top-up loan is extra borrowing added on top of an existing loan with the same lender, usually offered after a clean repayment track record. It is convenient and often cheaper than a fresh loan, but it extends your debt and total interest, so check the fresh KFS before accepting.
Worked example
After repaying 6 of 12 EMIs on a ₹40,000 loan (outstanding ≈ ₹21,000), the lender offers a ₹15,000 top-up merged into one new schedule. Compare the new KFS's total repayment against your current plan before saying yes.
